Backstitch is done

On my WIP. I still have the rest of the border to cross-stitch, then the whole border to outline, which is going to be a lot of work and a lot more back stitching than the top half, which I just finished. I plan to make this into a large pinkeep to hang up. Since there will be little ornaments to put on this I cannot put it in a frame. I hope it turns out okay!

I made this for an enchange I took part in on the WOCS Forum. I had a hard time parting with it because I love the design and I must say it turned out pretty good for a first attempt.

Wow it's been 4 months!

It's been 4 months since I last wrote on this blog but I really haven't accomplished too much stitching-wise. I was very busy preparing for my wedding which took place August 2, 2008, and also I was trying to finish a project to help out a woman who is making a cross-stitch book. Unfortunately I didn't even have time to finish that before the due date. I'm just going to hang on to it and complete it for her to use in one of her future books.

I pulled my Christmas one back out and have been working on that for the past month. Although I look almost done I am far from finished. I cannot put any WIP pics up because I have lost the charger to my camera's battery and it's a special battery so you will have to do without pics for now. It is a Christmas advent calendar that the kids would really enjoy participating in so I will be disappointed if it's not finished on time. I am itching to get it done!

Got a little stitching done over the past few weeks

But unfortunately will not post the pics for a couple of weeks-months. I have been working on all my exchange pieces and it's a secret so I cannot post a pic until after the reveal. I made a pinkeep for the very first time. I enjoyed it but will have to get better at it, that way I can make lots and have lots of nice ones. I also made a scissor keep which I had a hard time mailing away. It was so nice, I just wanted to keep it for myself. Hopefully my partner likes it. That's the important part. I started on a Christmas calendar for the kids. Not much done on it to post a WIP but will soon. I am liking it but hating it at the same time. There is so much red, I figure I'll get the bulk of it done now, that way I don't have to go back to it!

It's been a while...

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anyting new on my blog! Well, the Mario and Luigi chart I have been working on for my son is almost done. I just need to go to Michael's so I can get a color that I need to fill in the blank squares. I also did a little bookmark that I recevied from nkbabe from the WOCS forum. It was very nice of her to send and I had to start it right away because it is so cute. I have also been working on the next piece for the Calendar Cats RR. Almost ready to post it off. And I am also ready to post off the pinkeep for the pinkeep exchange I am in. So, now do you see why I haven't been posting anything new? I've been too busy stitching! I found a pic of Footprints that I did a couple years ago. I gave it to my priest as a gift for baptizing me.

A Completed UFO!

I spent the week taking care of my two sick children who were home from school all week so I didn't get as much stitching in as I would have liked. However, I did finish The Last Supper! I just finished it last night. After that, I started on my pinkeep for the exchange and also started on a Mario and Luigi design for my son. I will take a WIP later on when I have a few more stitches in.

I also received my Just Because gift during the week. It is really cute. There is also 2 more sides to it that I could put a picture of my kids in or something like that.

Another WIP Update

Finally Uploaded

I finally got my butt in gear and transferred my pics onto my computer. So this is the progress I made on The Last Supper as of Monday (the 14). There is more of it I have done, but I haven't gotten around to taking a pic of it yet. I know it only takes two seconds, but I am always busy and I just forget about it. And then when I remember I just want to stitch since I only have a bit of time to do it anyways.

And here is my first piece for the Margaret Sherry RR I'm in. It didn't take very long at all, just 2 evenings. I am so anxious to start February's but I gotta wait for someone else's piece to get to me first!

I've been quite lazy lately.....

Well I wouldn't say I'm lazy, just with uploading my next WIP on here. I have been so busy lately that I haven't been spending very much time on the computer. I have completed the rest of the page I was working on, and I started on the next one. I also completed my first piece for the RR I'm in. I will post pics of both them soon. I hope. I think I need a kick in the butt!

Week 2 of my UFO

I haven't done very much stitching lately. I didn't stitch at all for the past 3 days so I am not progressing on this as fast as I would like. I'm going to put a few hours on it tomorrow because I can't stitch on Tuesday. On Wednesday I hope to pick it back up again and work on it a lot to hopefully get this 5th section done before the end of the weekend.







I signed up for my first RR today. I am excited about this because I have never been involved in one before. My first post date is May 1 so I have plenty of time to get my bits sorted and stitch the first peice on my own before I mail it off. We are doing the Margaret Sherry Cats Calendar and it should take 1 year. I also signed up for a pinkeep exchange. They look really cute and quite interesting to make. So I should enjoy this project. I am just waiting for my Just Because exchange, but that shouldn't be here until April 4 if everything worked out right.

Spring Cleaning

I've started off my Spring cleaning this year with all my stitchy stuff. I have put all my finished projects rolled up in one drawer, my unused pieces of aida in another drawer and all the accessories in another. All my charts are in their own spot too. I saved the DMC for last because I knew that would take forever. So I went through all my colours, wrote down the ones I needed, went and bought them all. Wound them up on their bobbins, put them away and went through my checklist again to find that I still needed 13 colors. So I just need to get those colors, wind them up then I'm done. Now I can get back to my stitching! Whew!

My current WIP, former UFO

This is The Last Supper. I started working on it in the summer of 2004. It is 6 pages. The first 3 took me 6 months to complete. I got bored of it so decided to work on something else for now but never went back to it until recently. I've completed another page which took me just over 2 weeks! So it should be done in no time. But first I am taking the next couple of nights to organize all my stitchy stuff and put in order what I am going to do next, that way my projects will be ready to start. (again)

Welcome to my Blogger. I hope you enjoy your visit. In the coming weeks I should be adding more and more things. I plan on adding my current WIP that was a UFO, I plan on adding pictures of all my finished works and I also plan on posting completed projects that I am interested in selling or swapping. For now, I'll add a picture of my latest finish. It's also my favorite finish of all time that I have seen by anybody! It's a Heaven and Earth Design, the artist is Selena Fenech and the picture is title Small Things. I stitched it on 25 ct evenweave 2 over 1. It took me 15 months. It would have taken me much quicker but I was working full time. I was half-way finished her when I quit my job, then it took me 3 months to do the other half of her. I am going to do more HAEDs, but for now I'm going to complete my 3 UFOs then do a Christmas advent calendar.
